Every love story is held together by golden threads. The chance meeting. The in-joke nobody else gets. The moment you knew. My job is to find those threads and weave them into a ceremony that could only ever belong to you.

From my home in North Devon I create weddings, elopements and vow renewals for ceremonies across North Devon, Exmoor and the wider West Country, in any venue you can dream up. A barn, a manor house, a clifftop, your own back garden. If it matters to you, it works for me.

Golden Thread Ceremonies

Hello, I'm Veronica

thread-motif-amber

I'm a celebrant, a writer and a lifelong storyteller. I trained for this after a career spent in communications and business development, telling other people's stories. Now I get to tell the ones that matter the most, on the most important days. You can read how a vicar's daughter ended up here on my About page.

Weddings

Your wedding, your way, anywhere you like. A celebrant-led ceremony gives you complete freedom over the words, the place, the music and the moments. I take your stories and weave them into a ceremony that is personal, meaningful and unforgettable.

Elopements and vow renewals

Just the two of you, somewhere breathtaking, or a promise made twice in front of those who matter. Whether you're eloping, renewing your vows after a milestone or making a commitment on your own terms, I'll help you honour the journey you've taken together.

Funerals and celebrations of life

When someone you love dies, finding the right words can feel impossible. I'll listen to your memories and weave them into a farewell that honours their story with warmth, care and dignity.

Naming ceremonies

A new person has joined your story. A naming ceremony is a joyful, personal way to welcome them and promise them all the love and support now and into the future.

Why choose a Golden Thread ceremony

Spinning gold out of your stories

My ceremonies are so much more than delivering a script. What I do is different, starting long before the day itself.

  • I listen. Really listen.

Bring me your stories, your hopes and your superpowers, and I'll spin gold out of straw. The pressure of finding the right words comes off you and onto me.

  • Rituals invented just for you.

Alongside traditional elements like handfasting and unity candles, I devise original rituals in response to your story, like my Bead Ritual, where your love story is threaded bead by bead onto a single golden strand.

  • Calm, confident delivery.

Years of presenting to board rooms and at events means that nothing on a wedding day rattles me. I bring presence, warmth and just the right amount of good humour and crowd control.

  • Everyone is welcome here.

My practice is fully inclusive: all cultures, all couples, LGBTQ+ celebrations, and any access or additional needs thoughtfully accommodated.

Early words that mean a lot

thread-motif-gold

"Thank you Veronica so much for leading such a beautiful wedding ceremony here at our home for my son and daughter in law. Through your expert guidance, your empathy, your sensitivity and understanding they were able to express what was important to them. From the time you took to get to know them, the words you wrote for them and your calm and friendly manner, it was all truly wonderful. Wow, we were lucky to find you - you were fantastic!"

Where I work

Rooted in North Devon, at home across the West Country

I live in South Molton, a picturesque market town on the edge of the Exmoor National Park, where rolling moorland and ruggedly beautiful coastline are within easy reach. I regularly travel across the West Country - Cornwall, Devon, Somerset - a corner of England with a proud tradition of celebrant-led ceremonies and some of the most stunning wedding settings in the country.

Travel within 20 miles of South Molton is always included and I'm very happy to celebrate further afield too.
